Success in Japan Leads Sibelius to Open Tokyo Office
New office to serve thousands of musicians and music educators in the country.
London, 17 April 2007 - Sibelius Software, makers of the world’s best-selling music notation software, today announce the opening of an office in Tokyo to serve an ever-increasing number of users across Japan. Located in the high-tech Minato district – home to innovation leaders such as Sony and Fuji Xerox – the new office will offer first-class customer service to an expanding customer base of musicians and music educators across the country. A fully translated Japanese version of Sibelius was released in 2003.
“Japanese people enjoy a very well developed music culture. We are honoured and excited to be able to offer our product in Japan," says Jeremy Silver, MD of Sibelius Software. "Professional musicians, universities and schools have chosen Sibelius in countries all over the world. We are delighted to have a superb team in Tokyo to help spread the word about Sibelius even further.”
The offices form part of the Digidesign complex, the firm that Sibelius became a part of in 2006.
The new office will strengthen Sibelius’s relationship with Yamaha Band & Orchestra Division, who distribute Sibelius products across the country.
As well as Japan, Sibelius also has offices in the UK, US and Australia, plus a network for over 25 distributors spanning the entire globe. Sibelius is available in English, German, French, Spanish and Japanese. It is the notation tool of choice for professional musicians across the world, as well as for schools and universities – including the world’s most prestigious music conservatoires.
