Installing Sibelius 6.1 on Windows

• Quit Sibelius 6.
• If you are running Sibelius 6.0.1:
  • You must uninstall Sibelius 6.0.1 and reinstall Sibelius 6.0 before you update to Sibelius 6.1. To do this, go to Add/Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Programs and Features (Windows Vista or Windows 7) in Control Panel, choose Sibelius 6 from the list of installed programs and click Remove (Windows XP) or Uninstall (Windows Vista or Windows 7), then follow the instructions on the screen. (There is no need to unregister your copy before you uninstall.)
  • Reinstall Sibelius 6.0 from your Sibelius 6 DVD-ROM.
• Once you are running Sibelius 6.0.0 build 54, you can proceed directly to the next step.
• Now download the updater: Sibelius610UpdateEnglish.msp (68MB)
• Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation process.
• You will see a window welcoming you to the Sibelius 6 installation wizard. Click Next.
• A progress bar appears as the update is applied. This takes a few seconds.
• You will be told that Sibelius 6 has been successfully installed. Click Finish.
• Now run Sibelius 6.
• Choose About Sibelius from the Help menu, and check the version number: it should read Version 6.1.0 build 14.

Installing Sibelius 6.1 on Mac OS X

• Quit Sibelius 6.
• Download Sibelius610UpdateEnglish.dmg (95MB)
• Your browser should automatically mount the downloaded disk image: if not, double-click the downloaded file to mount the disk image.
• Inside the disk image you will find a single icon, Sibelius 6.1 Update. Double-click this to begin installation.
• You are shown information about how to get technical help in the event that you have problems updating. Click Continue.
• You are shown (scant) details of the fixes in Sibelius 6.1. Click Continue.
• You are given the opportunity to review the Sibelius 6 license agreement. Click Continue, then Agree.
• Select the hard disk on which Sibelius 6 is installed, and click Continue.
• You are told that the update is ready to install, so click Install.
• You are prompted to provide your administrator password: do so, and click OK.
• A progress bar appears as the update is applied.
• After a few seconds, you will be informed that installation was successful. Click Finish.
• Now run Sibelius 6.
• Choose About Sibelius 6 from the Sibelius 6 menu, and check the version number: it should read Version 6.1.0 build 14.
