561: Download Kontakt Player 2.2.4

Native Instruments have released Kontakt Player 2 version 2.2.4, which is a newer version than the one included on Sibelius 5.0 and 5.1 DVD-ROMs.

This updated version is included on Sibelius 5.2 or 5.2.5 DVD-ROMs, so you do not need to download this update you have one of these discs. If you're not sure which version you have, simply check the base of your disc. (Where?)

Improvements in this version of Kontakt Player 2 include:

• Improved compatibility with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
• Multi initialization bug fix
• Wallpapers are now correctly recalled
• Instrument loading times improved

Further details of the improvements can be found in the Readme.txt file installed along with Kontakt Player 2 (on Windows, in C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt Player 2 by default, and on Mac, in /Applications/Kontakt Player 2by default).

You should install the Kontakt Player 2 update after installing your Sibelius Sounds or third-party (e.g. Garritan Personal Orchestra, Tapspace Virtual Drumline) sound libraries.

Be aware that on Windows, you are given the opportunity to choose the location into which the Kontakt Player 2 VST plug-in should be installed. Ensure that you choose the folder that Sibelius is set to use for virtual instruments and effects, by default C:\Program Files\Sibelius Software\VSTPlugins.
